Available for $29, Apple’s tracking device, AirTag, is powered by an Apple U1 chip, NFC, Bluetooth, and an accelerometer. Thanks to these chips and sensors, AirTags can be tracked quickly and accurately with thumb perfection using the Find My app on your iOS devices. Previously it was not possible to share AirTags with other family members. But now thanks to the introduction of the latest iOS 17 update, the same feature is now available. This guide will tell you how to share your AirTag location with your family.
How to Share AirTag Location with Your Family (2023)
You can easily share your AirTag location with your family now or any other person by installing the latest iOS 17 update. In the previous version of iOS, it was only possible to use AirTags with a single Apple ID, but now it’s changing with iOS 17 firmware update.
Here are the steps for sharing your AirTag location with your family and others:
- First, install the latest iOS 17 update on your iPhone, here’s a guide to install the beta version: How to Enroll, Download & Install iOS 17 Beta on iPhone.
- Then launch the Find My app on your Apple smartphone.
- Press the Items tab.
- Then press on your AirTag’s name.
- You then have to swipe up on the screen to bring the “Share This AirTag” option.
- Now you have to press the option Add Person and then tap on Continue.
- That’s it, after adding your family member or any other person, you will be able to share the AirTag locations with them.
This novelty will allow a AirTag user and his relatives to know the location of an object, without having to ask the original person who owns the tracker. For example, if within a family, if one of the parents places an AirTag on a console controller and a child searches for the controller, he can find it by himself from the “Find My” app without having to ask the parent.
