    Wireless Android Auto is a version of Android Auto that connects your phone to your car’s head unit via Wi-Fi. You don’t need to plug in a USB cable every time you get into your car. Once you complete the initial setup, Android Auto automatically connects your phone to your vehicle’s infotainment screen each time you start the car. Wireless Android Auto requires a compatible head unit and in-vehicle Wi-Fi as Bluetooth cannot transmit enough data to support wireless Android Auto.     Compatible Android Auto Wireless Phones

    Not all phones can connect wirelessly to Android Auto either. You need a phone that runs on Android 11 or higher with 5 GHz Wi-Fi support. If you have an older version of Android, you can still use wireless Android Auto if you have a Google or Samsung phone. Here are some of the phones that support wireless Android Auto:

    • Google – Pixel 3 or newer
    • Samsung – Galaxy S8 or newer, Galaxy Note 8 or newer, Galaxy Z Flip all models, Galaxy Fold all models

    Other phones running on Android 11 or higher with 5 GHz Wi-Fi support wireless Android Auto.
