Resident Evil Village Second Demo PS4/Pro vs PS5 Frame Rate Comparison Video

A second demo of the soon-to-be-released horror title Resident Evil Village is now available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and today a detailed frame rate check reveals what is technically available.

Shortly before the release of Resident Evil Village, Capcom provided a second gameplay demo for the horror title on the PlayStation platforms. The site VG Tech did not take long to get to the bottom of the technical implementation as part of detailed performance analysis.

As it says in the video, among other things, the frame rate comparison video of Resident Evil Village is displayed on the PlayStation 5 with deactivated ray tracing and in resolution mode on the PlayStation 4 Pro in 3840 x 2160 resolution. According to VG Tech, upscaling via checkerboard rendering is probably used on both platforms.

If you choose the performance mode on the PlayStation 4 Pro, the game will be displayed in the native 1920 x 1080 resolution and thus 1080p. On the standard model of the PlayStation 4, however, the players have to arrange themselves with a display of 1600 x 900 pixels. In addition, there are always smaller frame rate drops waiting on the PlayStation 4.

Further details on the performance of the second demo of the title can be found in the attached video below. We have summarized official information on the refresh rates and the resolutions that the Capcom developers are targeting on the various platforms here for you.

Resident Evil Village will be released on May 7, 2021, for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
