Apple has recently updated its iOS operating system version, and iPad and iPhone users can now enjoy the new features of iOS 15.4. Despite the fact that, without a doubt, the most anticipated is the arrival of up to 37 new emojis and 75 new skin tones for a total of 112 new characters. This is just a preview of Unicode’s next-generation Emoji 15.0 coming later this year. Let us find out in this article what new emojis are available in iOS 15.4.
New Emojis in iOS 15.4
Among the new emojis in iOS 15.4, you will find designs arriving with seven smiley faces, including Google’s popular half-melted face emoticon. With it comes the “face with open eyes and hand over mouth”, “face with peeking eye”, “greeting face”, “dotted line face”, “diagonal mouth face” and “face holding tears”. This is the most smiley emoji introduced in an Apple emoji update since iOS 11.1 in 2017.
Another novelty that this update brought is the one related to the neutral gender. Therefore, from now on we will find “person with crown” and “pregnant person”, which can even be a man. In addition, we can find a biting lip or a new “troll” creature.
In the hand’s section, we will now see new gestures among the emojis such as a finger pointing directly at us, a palm up, a palm down, two hands forming a heart, or a hand that makes “clicks”.
These new shades are found in the “handshake” emoji. Until now, we could only choose the skin tone of both hands, so both hands had to be the same. However, with the update, we will have the opportunity to choose the color of the hands separately so that the emoji shows a hand of a different shade.
Also included are a glass spilling wine, corals from the sea, an empty nest, a nest with eggs, bubbles, a lip, a lily pad, a blue hand with an eye in the center, the equals sign, peanuts, a low battery symbol and there is also no shortage of new options for gender fluid people with pregnancy or with a crown on.
