Method 1: Re-install Spotify to Fix Any Issues with the App

There are times when an app might not have been installed properly or it may not work as it should after installation. Such problems can be easily solved by re-installing the app. You can find the steps to re-install the Spotify app on your device’s OS below:

  • iOS:
  1. Tap and hold the Spotify app icon.
  2. Select Delete App > Delete.
  3. Install the Spotify app again from the App Store.
  • Android:
  1. Tap and hold the Spotify app icon.
  2. Select ‘Uninstall’ or ‘Delete’.
  3. Tap on ‘Ok’.
  4. You can install the app again from the Play Store.
  • MacOS:
  1. Launch ‘Finder’.
  2. From the sidebar menu, click on ‘Applications’.
  3. Drag the Spotify app to the Trash. Clear the Trash section.
  4. Install Spotify again.
  • Windows:
  1. Press the ‘Windows + I’ keys to open the Settings app.
  2. Select Apps > Spotify > Uninstall.
  3. Download the app again using a browser or Microsoft Store.

  6. Install the app from the App Store.
  • Android:
  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Spotify > Storage and Cache.
  2. Tap ‘Clear Storage’.

  4. Open the File Manager on your phone.
  5. Go to Internal Storage > Android > Data.
  6. Delete the ‘com.spotify.music’ folder, if available.
  7. Restart your phone and install the Spotify App again.
  • MacOS:
  1. Open ‘Finder’ and select Go > Library > Caches.
  2. Delete the ‘com.spotify.Client’ and ‘com.spotify.client.helper’
  3. Go back, and open ‘Application Support’.
  4. Delete the Spotify folder.
  5. Press ‘Command + Shift + G’ keys to open the ‘Go to’
  6. Enter ‘~/library/’.
  7. Type ‘Spotify’ in the search field and select ‘Search: Library’.
  8. Delete all the files that you see.
  9. Restart your device and install the Spotify App.
  • Windows:
  1. Open the ‘Settings’ app and make your way through System > Apps & Features > Spotify > Uninstall.
  2. Select ‘Uninstall’
  3. Search ‘Spotify’ in your PC’s search bar and if you find any folders or files related to Spotify, delete them.
  4. Restart your device and install the Spotify App.
