How to Remove Remote Management on iPad

Remote Management on an iPad or iPhone gives complete control of the device to a person even while being away from it. If you enable Remote Management on your iPad, you can limit its processes and functions when it’s used by someone else. Mobile Device Management (MDM) lets you remotely configure any iPad. Many organizations use MDM on their computers and mobile phones for security purposes. However rare, there are instances when users buy a second-hand iPad and find it being remotely controlled by the previous user. Therefore, in this guide, we will show you how to remove remote management on iPad.

Remove Remote Management on iPad (2022)

There are two methods to remove MDM from any iOS or iPadOS device. These methods depend upon the availability of the remote management password. If you have the MDM password for your iPad, things will be much easier; else, you may need to use some third-party apps to remove remote management on your iPad. We have mentioned both the methods right below:

Method 1: Disable Remote Management from Settings on the iPad

  1. On your iPad, go to Settings > General > Device Management.
  2. Tap ‘Remove Management’ at the bottom.
  3. Tap ‘Remove Management’ again when you see a prompt.
  4. Enter the MDM password to disable it on your iPad.

Users who can somehow manage to get the remote management password can follow these steps to turn off Mobile Device Management on their iPad.

Note: If you have purchased a second-hand iPad that has MDM enabled, ask the previous owner for its password.

Method 2: Third-Party Apps to Remove MDM on iPad

Though this method may not be as easy as the first one, you do not have any other choice. Using third-party apps to disable MDM on iPad is the only way if you do not have its password. Here’s a list of some of the best apps to get rid of remote controlling on your iPad:

  • LockAway
  • PassFab iPhone Unlocker
  • AnyUnlock

You can use these apps to turn off MDM on your iPad. Search for these apps using a browser and download them on your iPad.

These are the methods to remove remote management on iPad. You can disable MDM on your iPad with or without any password as explained above. It is important to take off any unethical Mobile Device Management from your iOS or iPadOS device so that you can use it without any worries. If a person or organization has control of your mobile phone/tab, they may hinder you from using it your way. Also, remember that remote management on any device leads to security-related issues and privacy breaches as well.
