Two Ways to Find Lost AirPods that Are Offline
You have few options left if your device is already offline and dead on battery. That being a disadvantage with this type of small and compact TWS, the maximum your AirPods can last with their batteries is 24 hours. Hence, the option to play sound, and track live location via Find My App is already gone. Although, you can try these two methods to find your AirPods.
1. Check Last Location Using Find My App
Although your AirPods are dead and offline, you can use the Find My app on your iPhone, which is pre-installed on iPhones running iOS 10.3 and above. One good thing about the Find My app is it saves the last known location, to check the last location when your AirPods were online or connected. Follow the below-given steps to do it:
- Open the Find My app on your iPhone.
- Select Devices from the Tab and choose your AirPods.
- Now, ‘tap’ on the name of your AirPods device under the Devices tab.
Now you can view its battery level and last known location below the name. You may be able to search the area to find them.
2. Enable Lost Mode
Alternatively, you have the last option to enable the Lost Mode for your AirPods via Find My App. Once enabled, the app will keep tracking and notify you the moment your AirPods are online. To do this on your iPhone, follow these steps:
- Open Find My App on iPhone.
- Select Devices from the Tab and choose your AirPods.
- Now, scroll down to Mark as Lost.
- Tap ‘Active’ in the Mark as Lost menu.
- Now, click ‘Continue’.
- Enter your phone number.
- Lastly, tap ‘Active’ to exit.
Now, if someone opens your AirPods and connects with their phone, it will show your number. Additionally, it will also display the location whenever they are online again.
