Best Podcast Apps for iPhone (2023)

One of my favorite way to get up-to-date information from media is via Podcast. Whenever I want to hear the latest news going on in the market or just hang out listening to my favorite shows and interviews, podcasts allow me to do all of this without requiring me to pay full attention to the programs. This also means that I can listen to them while I am not at work or doing something else. In that sense, in this guide, I will list down the best podcast apps for iPhone in 2022.

Best Podcast Apps on iPhone in 2023

The best thing about podcasts is that they are basically free and anyone can listen to them using any app they want. Obviously, there are some premium content options, but most of the podcasts are free and available on any app that you want to use. In this article, I am going to help you with this problem by listing down the best podcast apps for iPhone that you can use in 2022.

1. Overcast

Overcast is one of the most popular podcast apps for iPhone and iPad available on the App Store. Developed by Marco Arment, it is an application that is always at the forefront of podcast technology. This app features Voice Boost technology along with Smart Speed and enhanced Apple Watch support. You will love the simple design of this app with modern iOS design standards. Overcast also supports Apple CarPlay. The only thing that needs to be purchased in the app is a $10 annual subscription to remove ads.

2. Apple Podcasts

Apple Podcasts is installed by default on all iPhones. All you have to do is just find its icon: a small purple square. But if you can’t find it, you can also download it from the App Store. This app is a bit like the mother of all podcast applications. The one who was there before all the others. It has hundreds of thousands of podcasts available for free. Despite a fairly basic user experience and a crazy search tool, it remains the biggest app on the market. In fact, its strength lies in its “historic” presence, in the richness of its catalog, and in its ability to move podcasts to the forefront.

3. Pocket Casts

Pocket Casts is free in its basic version, and will cost you $1.20 per month to activate the Pocket Casts Plus options. Its interface is intuitive and quite complete. The app is easy to use and suitable for all types of users: that’s its strength. It contains the features we are looking for and is not bad for playback control such as being able to change the volume directly in the app (so as not to play with that of the phone), the possibility of cutting silences in an episode, decreasing or increasing reading speed, etc. Pocket Casts also lets you sync your listening across multiple devices and/or operating systems.

And that is everything you need to know about the best podcast app for iPhone in 2022. While you are here, do not forget to check out How to put your iPhone or iPad into Recovery Mode, and How to use iOS 15 Photo Scan on your iPhone or iPad devices.
