Announced last May, Mortal Kombat 1 wants to mark a new beginning for the saga and for its protagonists, who have now become legendary. Now, as reported by Twitter user BruskPoet, Mortal Kombat fans think Ashrah will be unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con.

Ashrah, who comes from Mortal Kombat Deception, could in fact be shown during the event in question. On the Comic-Con website, the official synopsis for the Mortal Kombat 1 panel was shared, revealing the presence of Kelly Hu (X2: X-Men United, BMF, Young Justice) for an in-game character to be revealed for the occasion.

Hu has been involved in several Mortal Kombat-related projects in the past, including the voice of D’Vorah and the voice of Sindel in Mortal Kombat X, before being replaced by Mara Junot in Mortal Kombat 11.

There is actually a third option that seems the most likely. Hu is also the voice of Ashrah in Mortal Kombat Legends: Cage Match, an animated film that focuses on Johnny Cage. Given that the actress is playing the character in that feature film, it seems rather likely that she could voice Ashrah as well in Mortal Kombat 1.

Mortal Kombat 1, in any case, is set to release this September 19, 2023, when the fighters will land on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and also Nintendo Switch. In other news, it was also reported that Mortal Kombat 1 will also include famous characters such as Megan Fox and Travis Scott.
