How To Tame Fox In Minecraft

Is it possible to tame a fox in Minecraft? Check out our guide to find out everything about it.

Minecraft features a plethora of passive mobs in the form of cute animals and creatures. One of these includes the cute foxes that can be found in many varying locations across the massive biomes. But while finding them is the easier part, taming these wild foxes can be a bit of a hassle. Although it’s a straightforward method, you need to trap a fox before taming or befriending them in Minecraft. Similar to the cats, you need to sneak up on them with their favorite food to lure them in.

Don’t worry, check out our guide on how to tame a Fox in Minecraft. In our guide, we have also explained the steps to trap, tame, and where to find wild foxes. So, here’s everything you need to know.

Where to Find a Fox in Minecraft

You can find the foxes mainly in the Groves and Taiga biomes. As you head there, you can also find them sleeping around various locations. These include the Old Growth Pine Taiga, Old Growth Spruce Taiga, and Snowy Taiga biomes.

We recommend building a pen or wall around the foxes to trap them. For that, we suggest building a wall more than 2 blocks high.

How to Tame Foxes in Minecraft

You can tame a Fox using sweet berries or glow berries. But before that, you need to trap two foxes by building a wall around them. Instead of waking them up, build a block to trap the two foxes. If you could capture only one of them, leave some space for luring the other fox.

So, here’s how to tame a Fox in Minecraft:

  • Once the foxes are trapped, feed them sweet or glow berries. Keep on feeding them until you see hearts hovering above them.
  • Wait for a few seconds for the baby fox to spawn.
  • After it spawns, feed it enough berries to speed up its growth for becoming an adult.

Until it becomes an adult, it will be scared of you and try to run away. But when it becomes an adult, it will start following you around. It will also protect you against different passive mobs that can injure or kill you. So, here’s the list of all the passive mobs it can attack:

  • Zombified Piglins
  • Zombies
  • Wither skeletons
  • Vindicators
  • Vexes
  • Strays
  • Spiders
  • Skeletons
  • Silverfish
  • Ravagers
  • Pillagers
  • Phantoms
  • Pandas
  • Husks
  • Goats
  • Endermites
  • Endermen
