Minecraft features a plethora of mobs that can be used to traverse across the biomes and Overworld. Horses are one of these mobs that can prove quite helpful to travel. But as there is no direct way to find or obtain them, you must tame horses before breeding them. Don’t worry, check out our guide on how to breed horses in Minecraft. The method for horse breeding is the same on all the platforms. So, here’s everything you need to know about it.
How to Breed Minecraft Horses
Before you begin breeding horses, you must find them first. You can find horses around plains, valleys, and wood. After finding them, all you need are two Gold Carrots or apples to tame them.
So here’s how to breed horses in Minecraft:
- Find two horses for breeding as mentioned earlier. As these mobs don’t have any gender, don’t worry about finding specific horses.
- Once found, tame these two horses using a Gold apple or Gold carrot.
- For a Golden apple, you can put 1 Apple at the center of the Crafting table with 8 gold ingots surrounding it. You can get Gold ingots by smelting raw gold.
- Now, for Gold Carrot, put one carrot at the center of the crafting table with 8 gold nuggets surrounding it. You can get Gold nuggets by mining nether gold.
- When the horses are close to one another, use either Gold Apple or Carrot.
- Approach close and interact with them to ride a horse.
- You will see hearts hovering over their heads but ensure they are close.
- Once you see hearts over both the horses, they will make a baby horse.
- Then, wait for 20-25 minutes for it to grow into an adult horse. You can feed the baby horse sugar, wheat, and hay to make it spawn quicker into an adult.
