Ever since the release of Helldivers 2 on PC and PS5, many players have been eager to use cheat codes for easier gameplay. Considering its predecessor allowed cheats, it seems quite obvious that the sequel game would allow cheats. That said, the title does implement an anti-cheat that has been controversial among the community. But does the Helldivers 2 have any cheats or trainers?

Are There Any Trainers and Cheats in Helldivers 2?
Sadly, there are no cheats and trainers available due to the nProtect Game Guard as confirmed on a Reddit post. According to Peter Lindgren, the Technical Director of Helldivers 2, the Game Guard is a “kernel level”, aka rootkit, anti-cheat. This not only restricts you from using any cheats but also blocks you from tweaking its source code. This makes it almost impossible to use any cheats in Helldivers 2.
As a plausible method, you may uninstall the GameGuard to enter the cheats in the game. However, Lindgren, stated that it is removed at the same time as the game is uninstalled. While many players are against the anti-cheat tactics, it is simply to balance out the current meta of the game. The Director stated,
“What we’ve seen in some of our and others’ games is that rampant cheating tends to have a very negative effect on players’ openness to playing, especially with randoms”
He also added,
“Second is the Galactic War. There’s this huge metagame going in the cloud which all players (and game clients) participate in. Even though we have other countermeasures in place, a cracked game client could make it easier to disrupt the Galactic War, which would sour everyone’s experience.”
Further, you cannot use any trainers to gain several buffs or boosts. These include God mode, Infinite ammo, invincibility, and more buffs. However, if that changes in the future, we will make sure to update this guide.
Ultimately, Peter also stated that it’s not possible to stop cheating from ever happening. However, the point of the anti-cheat is to make it more difficult and time-consuming to develop cheats.
