You can change your ship name by heading to the Ship Management terminals before heading to the Bridge. But before renaming the ship, you must complete the Tutorial and your first mission. Once it becomes accessible, choose the name of your ship from two lists.

So, follow the below steps to change your ship name:

  • Approach the Ship Management Terminals and press the E button to interact with it.
  • Select your ship and press the R button to change the ship name. If you haven’t completed your tutorial or first mission, this option will be greyed out.
  • Navigate and pick the names from both lists.
  • After selecting a suitable name, apply the changed name by hitting the prompted key button.

Once you have renamed your ship’s name, you will find it reflected in-game. This includes the name shown in the extreme top-left corner when you are sailing across oceans. This name will also be prompted during specific cutscenes. But aside from that, there is no point in changing your ship’s name.

However, we will update this guide if that changes in the future.
