Despite being praised for its gameplay mechanics, Arrowhead’s recent game has a fair share of technical issues that ruin the gaming experience. Helldivers 2 Armor Bug Fix
Unfortunately, there is no workaround for the Medium and Heavy Armor bug in the game. Until this bug gets resolved, switch to Light armor or other pieces not affected by it. On the brighter side, the Light armor offers more mobility and movement speed. Since it is pointless to upgrade medium or heavy armor, we recommend not upgrading either of them.
While many players expected this bug to be fixed in the most recent patch, the issue remains unresolved. Luckily, the devs at Arrowhead Game Studio confirmed that they are working on this issue. However, the recent patch or hotfix was focused on resolving the server-related issues. We can expect a hotfix or update resolving the Heavy and Medium armor bug 2 soon.
