The Apple Watch is a flagship product of the Californian brand. Many versions of these smartwatches have been marketed over the years. But what are the different models? Here’s a quick size comparison and differences between every Apple Watch still on sale, including models such as the Series 8, the second-generation Apple Watch SE, and the Apple Watch Ultra.
Apple Watch Size Comparison and Differences
Check out the Apple Watch Size Comparison between Apple Watch SE 2, Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch Ultra, Apple Watch Series 3, etc. below.
1. Apple Watch SE 2
Available for only $249 dollars, the second-generation Apple Watch SE has many similarities with the high-end Watch but it is much cheaper. Its case is similar to that of the Series 6, with 40mm or 44mm, based on your choice. The screen, meanwhile, offers a smaller diagonal than that of the Series 8 but remains very acceptable on a daily basis. Especially since the definition remains of quality between 368 x 448 pixels at least, for the small model.
2. Apple Watch Series 8
When it was released, the Apple Watch Series 8 created controversy. The developers who analyzed the smartwatch quickly realized that its chip is almost the same as that of the previous model, by comparing its performance with that of the Series 7 which detected almost no difference. And it’s pretty much the same for all the other characteristics of its technical sheet, including autonomy.
3. Apple Watch Ultra
The last release range, the Apple Watch Ultra has only had one edition for the moment but remains the best on the market today, in terms of smartwatches. What’s more, this version is an asset of choice for scuba diving enthusiasts by being able to withstand water pressure up to a hundred meters deep. The Apple Watch Ultra also has many other differentiating elements such as a 36-hour battery life (on paper), an additional button whose action is customizable, and a peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits. A temperature sensor is also included, but this is also the case with the Series 8. On the other hand, only the Apple Watch Ultra has a siren to warn and help in the event of a glitch.
4. Apple Watch Series 3
Which Apple Watch to choose at the best possible price? The answer is simple: the Apple Watch Series 3. This is no longer sold in the Apple Store because the Series 3 is the oldest in our comparison. But this does not mean that it is a second-class connected object, on the contrary. The Apple Watch Series 3 can make calls, it can immerse itself while swimming, transmits notifications from your iPhone, and can measure heart rate. A GPS is also included for your travels.
Screen Size Comparison
Coming to the comparison of the screen sizes, it was noticed that the panel of the Apple Watch Series 3 is the smallest with edges 4.5 mm thick (compared to 1.7 mm for the Series 7), but it is satisfied with a definition of 312 x 390 px. Overall, the display of the Apple Watch Series 8 is clearly the one that makes the difference since it is already 20% larger than that of the Apple Watch SE and 70% brighter.
In addition, the Series 7 offers the always-on display, but the second generation Apple Watch SE or the Apple Watch Series 3 does not. On the other hand, be aware that the Apple Watch Ultra remains the model with the best screen today, which is larger and more solid.
