After weeks of rumors and speculation, there has been the long-awaited reveal of the new Mortal Kombat 1 game, which will be a real reboot of the franchise. After the eleventh chapter of the saga, the title is ready to start again with a really important reset. Only yesterday Ed Boon had confirmed the new episode of Mortal Kombat 1, with a reveal set for 3 pm today, May 18, 2023. After all, the first information bodes well, although the official announcement has now made things clear.

The game has a release date set for September 19, 2023. Mortal Kombat 1 will see historical figures such as Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, and many others.

The console versions of Mortal Kombat 1 are being built by NetherRealm, that is the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, while QLOC is developing the Steam and Epic Games Store versions of the game.

Shiver Entertainment and Saber Interactive are developing the Nintendo Switch version of the game. In short, the bloodiest fighting game saga ever is ready to start again in a big way. Check out the debut trailer of Mortal Kombat 1 below:

 

Mortal Kombat 1 Collector’s Edition, Price

In addition to the regular game of Mortal Kombat 1, all Limited and Collector’s editions of the title have also been announced.

Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition ($109.99) will be available in physical and digital versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, (Steam and Epic Games Store) and will include the full content of the standard edition, the Kombat Pack, the early access to the game on September 14, and 1,250 dragon crystals (in-game currency).

The Kombat Pack will include a Johnny Cage character skin featuring the appearance of renowned actor and martial artist Jean-Claude Van Damme (available on release day), early access to six new playable characters (available post-release), and five new Kameo fighters (available after release).

Mortal Kombat 1 Kollector’s Edition ($249.99) will be available in physical form at select retailers only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and will include Premium Edition content, early access, a 41cm statuette of Liu Kang made by COARSE, a character game skin inspired by Liu Kang, three exclusive art prints, a steel case and an additional 1,450 dragon crystals (2,700 total).

In any case, the Mortal Kombat 1 Standard Edition will be available in physical and digital versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, including Steam and the Epic Games Store.

All pre-orders of Mortal Kombat 1 will include Shang Tsung as a playable character, and those who pre-order the game for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S will also receive access to the beta which will be available in August 2023.
