Baldur’s Gate 3

From sheer incredible combat and character arcs to romance options, Larian Studios delivered their best with this one. With its choice-based gameplay, players are bound to be hooked on this roleplaying game.
Starfield
This year also calls for the release of Bethesda’s most anticipated sci-fi title. Being 25 years into the making, Starfield is one of 2023’s most amazing roleplaying games of all time. While stretching out as far as the cosmos, Starfield allows players to explore up to 1000 planets and join several factions. Despite winning only one award, this action and sci-fi RPG has been loved by fans and critics alike. Lies of P
A successful soulslike game without FromSoftware may sound a bit uncanny but Lies of P is an example of it. Whether it’s the combat or various level designs, this game simply seems like the Bloodborne spin-off we didn’t deserve but needed. Taking its lore from the tales of Pinocchio, the game doesn’t shy away from punishing combat and glorious bosses. This action roleplaying game not only indulges players with its narrative and characters but also gives them a reason for multiple playthroughs.

Hogwarts Legacy
Hogwarts Legacy is a love letter to all the Potterheads who wished they could go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As you immerse yourself into this magical journey, the game delivers an incredibly rich narrative using the Harry Potter lore. What’s better than exploring the school of your dreams and casting spells? For me, the answer is the role-playing genre allowing players to step in as a wizard or witch they always wanted to become.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Ultimately, let’s not forget the RPG gem which came out early this year. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom serves as a sequel to Breath of the Wild continuing Link’s journey across Hyrule. Its massive open-world, customization, and unprecedented freedom to craft a plethora of weapons won the hearts of many players. While it is better if you have played its predecessor titles, you don’t have to necessarily play all of them to get acquainted with the lore.
