How to Restore Deleted Contacts on Android From Recycle Bin?

Once contacted deleted stays in the Recycle Bin for some time, and it can be restored back into the phonebook.

Many people face this problem and look for ways to restore their deleted contacts. Fortunately, if you own a smartphone with Android 10 or later installed, restoring deleted contacts is easy from recycle bin and this guide will help you with it.

To restore deleted contacts on your Android phone, you can either use the in-build recycle bin or from your Google accounts using the Google Contacts app and here’s how you can do it:

1. From your Device Recycle Bin

On Android 10 or about devices, when you delete a contact they are moved to the Recycle Bin or Trash. So, if you have deleted any contacts in less than 30 days you can restore them from the recycle bin, and here’s how you can do it:

  • Firstly, open the Contacts app on your Android smartphone.
  • Then, tap the three-dots icon from the top-right corner of the screen.
  • Select the ‘Recycle Bin’ or ‘Trash’ option.
  • Now tap on the contact you want to restore.
  • Then tap the ‘Restore’ icon from the bottom of the screen to restore the contact.
  • If you want to restore multiple contacts, long press on one contact.
  • Then, select all the contacts you want to restore and tap the ‘Restore’ button from the bottom of the screen.

2. From your Google Account

Another way to restore your deleted contacts is from your Google account. If you have synced your contacts with your Google account, you can easily restore them from there, and here are the steps for the same:

  • Firstly, open the Google Contacts app on your Android phone after installing it from Google Play Store.
  • Then sign in with your Google account and click the menu icon from the top left corner of the screen.
  • Now select the ‘Settings’ option.
  • Then scroll down and click the ‘Undo changes’ button.
  • Choose a time frame to restore your contacts from, such as 10 minutes ago, 1 hour ago, or custom, and tap the ‘Confirm’ button.
  • Finally, tap the ‘Ok’ button and wait for the process to complete.
