    Apple has released many operating systems for their computer to date. These started off as System Software or now known as classic Mac OS, till 2001. Then came the “Mac OS X” till 2021, OS X till 2016, and finally now renamed as macOS till date. So many users are confused about the macOS versions named after big cats, and recently they are named after places from California. So today let’s look at all the Apple Mac OS (macOS) Operating Systems versions in order.

    • Un­known – Mac OS X Developer Preview (March 16, 1999)
    • Kodiak – Mac OS X Public Beta (September 13, 2000)
    • Cheetah – Mac OS X 10.0 (March 24, 2001)
    • Puma – Mac OS X 10.1 (September 25, 2001)
    • Jaguar – Mac OS X 10.2 (August 24, 2002)
    • Panther – Mac OS X 10.3 (October 24, 2003)
    • Tiger – Mac OS X 10.4 (April 29, 2005)
