As is normal every year, in the WWDC 2023 Apple has already presented the first version of the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch operating system, among others. These versions will then be developed for later release, usually with new devices.

The novelties will certainly be numerous, as usual from Apple, but will be limited to the iPhone devices that will receive this iOS version. Thus, check out the first list of iPhone models that will have access to iOS 17 when Apple officially presents it in September 2023 (as the current version of iOS 17 is in beta version).

Which iPhone models will be left out of iOS 17?

As can be seen from the list above, and as it is logical in the Apple universe, the latest iPhone models will naturally receive iOS 17. However, some models will be excluded from Apple’s list of updates, thus reaching their end of life with new releases.

The most glaring and visible cases are the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, which will not receive iOS 17, the new version of Apple’s operating system, this year. The oldest device was released in 2017, 6 years ago. Thus, it fulfills the 5 years of support for new versions that Apple usually offers.
