Even before the first beta phase, PlayStation users will have the opportunity to take part in an exclusive alpha phase in Call of Duty: Vanguard, coming this weekend. Then you also play a brand new game mode.
How to play Call of Duty: Vanguard exclusive Alpha Test phase
From August 27 at 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET to August 29 at 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET, every PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 owner can take part in Call of Duty: Vanguard PlayStation Exclusive Alpha and try out the innovative new game mode Champion Hill. This is your first opportunity to play Call of Duty: Vanguard two months before its November 5th release.
“This Alpha is the first hands-on opportunity the world will have with Call of Duty: Vanguard, introducing just some of the game’s innovations — as broken down today on stream by Greg Reisdorf, Sledgehammer Games’ Multiplayer Creative Director — and putting them into your hands to experience and test,” reads the description of the test on its official website.
An example of this is a reactive environment on the four maps in Champion Hill, breakable barriers, doors, and other obstacles to create new lines of sight or surprise a would-be camper.
During the hands-on, you’ll also get the chance to experiment with some of the game’s weapons, including the ability to modify up to 10 additions. You can also slip into the roles of the four protagonists – Lucas Riggs, Polina Petrova, Wade Jackson, and Arthur Kingsley – as an operator and experience the tactical, fast-paced multiplayer gameplay in Champion Hill.
