Fix: Apple Watch Touch Screen Not Working
Like iOS, watchOS is a stable and robust operating system, but it can happen that for various reasons the user is unable to carry out certain operations or tasks on Apple Watch like touch screen not working. Below, I have compiled a list of the best fixes for the most common problems you may face on your Apple Watch and indications on how to solve them.
1. Apple Watch won’t pair with iPhone
Apple Watch connection problem is one of the common ones that users face. Here’s what to do when you can’t pair your watch and iPhone:
- First, try turning Bluetooth off and on your iPhone.
- If the first method didn’t work, turn Airplane mode on and off on iPhone.
- Finally, restart Apple Watch if the above solutions do not work. Doing it is very simple, just long press the side button and when the
- scroll option appears on the screen, slide it to turn off the watch. Next, turn on the smartwatch by long pressing the side button.
2. Apple Watch screen is not active
All Apple Watch models prior to Series 5 do not have the Always On Display and the screen can be turned off or on in three different ways:
- Raising the wrist activates the screen, lowering the wrist it darkens again.
- By simply touching the screen with a finger or by pressing the Digital Crown.
- By turning the Digital Crown upwards, this is for series 2 devices and later.
The latter option can be enabled by opening the smartwatch settings directly on the iPhone by selecting “Apple Watch”, “General” and “Turn on screen”, after turning the crown upwards.
3. Apple Watch battery doesn’t last long
The Apple Watch guarantees a full day of battery power. If energy consumption drops, some particular settings may be active. Battery consumption can be monitored directly from the Control Center or from the “Night” mode. Here you can see the percentage of battery left and start the “Low Power” option which only reports the time on the Apple Watch, in order to save battery. It is good to remember that, in this mode, Apple Watch and iPhone cannot communicate and interact with each other.
