The sequel to Resident Evil Village, or Resident Evil 9, would in fact be arriving as early as 2025, according to what was reported by the insider DuskGolem, who is always particularly precise and reliable for leaks from the world of horror video games from Capcom (via Reddit).

In fact, we recall that DuskGolem had always anticipated that the development of the ninth chapter would have started as early as 2018, which would make Resident Evil 9 one of the episodes with the longest production times in the series.

However, for the actual announcement it could still take some time, as according to the insider, Capcom could choose to reveal its existence with a reveal trailer only by the end of 2024.

Evidently, the publisher will want to make sure that it can best present one of the most anticipated titles by fans, which will have the hard task of picking up on the legacy of “Village” and the recent Resident Evil 4 Remake.

In the meantime, it also seems that Capcom has in mind another “big game” that will be launched in 2024 and which should be announced by the end of this year, but it is not clear whether it is a project related to Resident Evil or a totally different IP.

Although DuskGolem has proved to be a very reliable insider over the years, we remind you that as always, these are unconfirmed rumors to be taken with due precautions. We will keep you updated as soon as we know more about it.
