Although fans of the Capcom horror title have been able to get their hands on the free Mercenaries mode now in Resident Evil 4 Remake, the game has now also been updated with a good amount of microtransactions, which is making the gamers all around the world unhappy. Check out all the details below.

The remake of the fourth chapter of the survival horror saga, Resident Evil 4, was released at the end of March, but now it’s time for new content.

The goal of Expendables is to defeat as many enemies as possible in a limited amount of time, using all the weapons at Leon’s disposal. Now, however, according to reports, fans of the Capcom game are not at all happy with the inclusion of microtransactions in the title.

Resident Evil 4 Remake received a series of microtransactions as part of the Mercenaries DLC mode, which allows players to upgrade weapons faster without having to complete side missions.

However, the inclusion of this paid content has, as always, sparked a debate among players. According to what was revealed, Expendables has 11 paid weapon upgrade tickets on its side that allow users to speed up the upgrade process.

These microtransactions have not been welcomed by players, some of whom have expressed their disappointment, labeling the bonuses as “despicable”.

Authoritative critic Stephanie Sterling expressed her disappointment at the inclusion, saying: “Creepy seeing people lining up to defend this shit. Microtransactions are inherently scummy. Springing them on players post-launch is more so. There are no good microtransactions.”

Others have taken to Twitter to argue that this isn’t a big deal, as microtransactions are only related to weapon upgrades. In fact, players will be able to access the exclusive upgrade of a weapon at any time, regardless of its level.

On the other hand, microtransactions are always a very controversial topic, and it is also true that, in most cases, fans do not take the inclusion of microtransactions lightly: many online multiplayer video games contain them, but which video game do we like best?
