The Ghost in the Machine is a timed research that was briefly added to the game but was removed, later. The Ghost in the Machine research is connected to the Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh – Los Angeles event’s upcoming Paranormal Puzzle experience. This event was teased in a blog post and had a description that read “Catch me if you can“.

You must join the event and find a secret code to unlock a hidden room. As soon as you unlock that room, you will encounter a Rotom. So, all you need to do is redeem a code for encountering this Pokemon. It will also allow you to claim several rewards.

Here are the following rewards you can get:

  • 30 Rotom Candy
  • 479 XP
  • 479 Stardust

This set number is directly related to Rotom’s listing in the Pokedex. Capturing the Pokemon will also unlock one of your main tasks during the Research.

The Ghost in the Machine research in Pokemon GO will be live on February 17, 2024. So, we suggest keeping patience until the research task is released. We will update this guide if we get any word from Niantic or the community.
