Mortal Kombat 1 for PS4 could become a reality, at launch or in the immediate future. This is suggested by what was reported by a user on X (formerly Twitter), who took a picture of a promotional poster that also shows the logo of Sony’s old-gen console. Check out the complete details below.
Mortal Kombat 1 Could Be Coming to PS4?
Even if there is no confirmed information about a PS4 version of Mortal Kombat 1, recently someone spotted a poster of the title for the old-gen console of Sony, though the matter is still pending an official announcement by Warner Bros.
It has been underlined several times about Mortal Kombat 1 that it would remain a next-gen project. The official indications, in fact, continue to speak only of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, in addition to the one for Nintendo Switch. For this reason, the information that emerged from the photograph on X (formerly Twitter) should be taken with a pinch of salt.
The photo, however, was taken in a GameStop and portrays the poster of Mortal Kombat 1 with a banner that refers to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions. The possibility of a surprise is making fans who are not yet in possession of a next-gen console excited and who don’t want to play Mortal Kombat 1 on Switch, especially after some not-so-reassuring previews.
As we were saying, however, the chances that it is a simple printing error, if not a real fake, are very high. It would not make sense, in fact, for NetherRealm Studios to keep a new old-gen version secret so few days after launch, losing the possibility of accumulating pre-orders.
So, all we can say is that take this news with a pinch of salt, until any official communication comes from the publishers themselves. For the time being, Mortal Kombat 1 will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Switch for $69.99 on September 19, 2023.
