As the release date for Horizon Forbidden West approaches, Sony has made available the pre-loads for the PS5 and PS4 versions of the game, thus revealing the download size to version 1.003.000. Check out the file size of the preload of the game below.
Horizon Forbidden West Pre-Load Available Now on PS5 & PS4
Players who have pre-ordered Horizon Forbidden West via the PlayStation Store will now be able to pre-load the game ahead of its release. The game is scheduled to release for PS5, PS4 on 18th February 2022.
While the pre-load size of Horizon Forbidden West in Europe has a file size of 90.55GB, in the US the game’s size is a few gigabytes less than 90.243 GB for PS4. On the other hand, the PS5 version has a preload size of 98.074 GB. Added to that is 1.647 GB for Digital Deluxe buyers and possibly a day one patch (if not already integrated into version 1.003.000).

The act of preloading games is nothing new in the industry, but extremely useful. Basically, you’ll be able to download the game before release so that when it comes out, you can play directly without waiting.
As stated earlier, Sony changed its mind and decided to give the PlayStation 5 version a free upgrade to anyone who buys the last-gen version. However, if you buy the PlayStation 4 version with the intention of upgrading to PlayStation 5 for free, you will have to wait for the game to be released. Sony will not allow you to pre-load the next-gen version, only if you buy it in advance.
In recent news, it was confirmed that Horizon Forbidden West will include various difficulty levels, gameplay support, and audio, visual, and controller customization options. Guerrilla Games will monitor player feedback and bring more features in the future to make the game more accessible.
Recall that Horizon Forbidden West will be released on February 18th for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
