After Edgerunners, the Netflix anime that has now become an integral part of the world of CD Projekt Red, another non-video game project will arrive in the same universe.

CD Projekt Red itself revealed this in an official press release, revealing the first details on who will be the production partners.

Anonymous Content will work alongside the Polish studio to develop a live-action project in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.

The company is known for producing Emmy-winning series such as True Detective and Mr. Robot, as well as Academy Award-winning films including The Revenant and Spotlight.

In this context, CD Projekt Red is working directly with the head of television of Anonymous Content Studios, Garret Kemble, director of development Ryan Schwartz, and creative director David Levine, an industry veteran who previously served as executive vice president of HBO and co-responsible for the fiction sector.

The new project is in an early development phase and the search has currently begun for a screenwriter to tell an all-new story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, which will be developed closely with CD Projekt Red regarding content.

It will still take a while to find out more, certainly a matter of years, but it is interesting that CD Projekt Red still wants to expand the franchise in various ways.

In other news, CDPR has hinted that it “definitely intend[s]” to develop Cyberpunk 2077 sequel.
