Inspired by the legendary film saga, the Machinegames title, Indiana Jones, was announced a very long time ago. However, there hasn’t been much information about the title, in fact, none since it was first announced.

Now, it was revealed, during the trial involving the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Microsoft over the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, that the game based on the Indiana Jones franchise will be exclusive to PC and Xbox.

The information was confirmed by Peter Hines, Bethesda’s global publishing head, who was called to court to speak about the game’s launch changes. He confirmed that before Bethesda was acquired by Microsoft in 2021, there was an agreement with Disney for a multi-platform release.

However, after acquisition by Microsoft, the deal was renegotiated with Disney and it was decided to make the game exclusive to Xbox and PC, as well as also being available on Game Pass on launch day. It is worth remembering that until then it had not been revealed on which platforms the game would be available.

The FTC, which is against the merger of the companies, alleges that this could happen with Activision Blizzard games, and that competition will be severely harmed with a possible exclusivity of franchises like Call of Duty, Overwatch, Diablo, and Warcraft, among others.

The Indiana Jones game is still under development by Machine Games in partnership with Lucasfilm Games but without a release date.
