Helldivers 2 is a fast-paced shooter game that engages players against the Automaton and Terminid alien factions. As you protect the Super Earth from these enemies, switch up the difficulty. If that’s the case, you must know the difference between all difficulty settings in Helldivers 2. While some players may require a tougher challenge, some may prefer lowering the difficulty.
Don’t worry, check out our guide that explains every difficulty setting and their differences. So, here’s everything you need to know.
All Difficulty Settings Differences in Helldivers 2
In total, there are nine difficulty settings in the game. These range from a piece of cake easy to brutal challenging levels. So, here are the following difficulty levels in order:
- Trivial
- Easy
- Medium
- Challenging
- Hard
- Extreme
- Suicide Mission
- Impossible
- Helldive
As seen from the above list, the Trivial is the easiest difficulty setting by default. While having almost no enemies, this level can be completed without sweat.
You must complete an operation at the current level to unlock the next level. Once you complete the Easy difficulty, you will unlock the Medium level. Then, completing the Medium will unlock the Challenging difficulty level and so on.
We recommend completing higher difficulty settings for better rewards. But with tougher challenges, you will face more enemies and less time to clear them.
How to Change Difficulty Level
Before we begin, note that you cannot change the difficulty settings once the mission has started.
Follow the below steps:
- Head to the Galactic War Screen by heading to the Ship.
- Press the Q and E buttons on a keyboard or the L1 and R1 buttons on a controller.
- Then, choose a preferred difficulty level and save the settings.
