    As far as the specifications are concerned, the Google Pixel 6 was equipped with a 4,614mAh battery pack while the new Pixel 7 has a 4,355mAh battery. Both can be topped up at 20W using a wired charger and are capable of reverse wireless charging.

    While you can notice the battery got slightly smaller in the newer Google Pixel 7 compared to the Pixel 6, you must assume that the Pixel 6 has better battery performance due to more capacity. Well, it is valid to some extent, but there is more to it which is explained below.

    If you go through the above chart, you will find the performance of the new Pixel 7 is similar to, or slightly more in some cases to Pixel 6. Though the battery got smaller, the overall performance remained the same. Thanks to the efficiency of the more refined Google Tensor G2 processor and slightly smaller display.

    In typical use cases with a full charge, the above charts show the battery life you get with specific applications. Google Pixel 6 performs slightly better in hardware-intensive tasks like video recording, gaming, or GPS navigation. On the other hand, Pixel 7 goes ahead in light and frequently performs tasks like scrolling through social media, browsing the internet, or attending calls.

    Additionally, the most significant difference between the two is that while the “Extreme Battery Saver” mode is turned on, the Pixel 7 which extends the battery life lasting up to 72 hours, while the Pixel 6 will only last up to 48 hours on paper. Hence, you can expect slightly better performance with the Google Pixel 7.

    While with the slightly different size of the battery, we expect the battery performance to remain more or less the same, lasting for a day in normal use cases. Talking about the charging, the Pixel 7 supports the same charging speeds as the Pixel 6, so you can expect the battery to go from zero to 50% in 30 minutes on wired charging with 20W. Also, both phones support wireless charging, but it’s limited to just 12 W unless you use Google’s Pixel Stand to charge them at 20W. Hence, taking all the points and performances into consideration, the Google Pixel 7 takes the stand. Although, the Pixel 6 just lags slightly behind, considering the price difference it balances out.
