How to use Karaoke on Apple Music (2023)

If you love singing along with your favorite songs, you might be interested in Apple Music Sing, a new feature that lets you enjoy karaoke on your iPhone or iPad. Apple Music Sing is available to all Apple Music subscribers who have updated their devices to iOS 16.2 or later. If you don’t know how to use karaoke on your Apple Music app, this guide has some tips and tricks to help you.

When Apple Music Sing is enabled on your Apple Music app to use karaoke mode, it allows you to adjust the volume of the lead singer’s voice in any song that has real-time lyrics. You can also see separate lyrics to backup vocals and duets, and sing along with them. Hence, to use this feature on your iPhone or iPad, follow these steps:

  • First, launch the Apple Music app on your device and play any song that has real-time lyrics.
  • You can find songs that support this feature by tapping the Search icon and selecting the Sing section.
  • Tap on the quotation mark icon in the bottom right corner of the screen to see the lyrics of the song.
  • Then tap the Karaoke icon represented by the microphone from the top right corner of the screen and adjust the volume of the lead singer’s voice by sliding the slider up or down.
  • You can slide it up or down to make it louder or quieter or mute it completely if you want to sing solo.
  • Now follow the lyrics on the screen and sing the song along.
  • You will see different colors and animations for different parts of the song, such as the chorus, verse, bridge, etc. You will also see smaller lyrics for backup vocals and duets, and you can sing them too.

  • iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max
  • iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max
  • iPhone 14, 14 mini, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max
  • iPad Pro (11-inch or 12.9-inch) (3rd generation or later)
  • iPad Air (4th generation or later)
  • iPad (9th generation or later)
  • iPad mini (6th generation or later)

In general, the Apple Music Sing feature is supported on all iPhone and iPad device that has an A13 Bionic chip with iOS 16.2 or above version installed.
