If your Power Mac G5 is not working all of a sudden even when pressing the power button and hearing the fans running up, don’t worry as we have got you covered in this article. This is most likely a problem that can be easily solved, just follow the procedures described in the following guide to fix the Power Mac G5 not booting problem. The methods described in this tutorial can be performed on all Apple computers, so if your MacBook won’t turn on or your iMac won’t turn on, read on to find out how to fix the problem in just a few clicks.

If you can’t access your Power Mac G5 and it seems completely “dead”, the cause is most likely attributable to your computer hardware. In this case the first thing to do is to check the power supply of the Mac computer, just make sure that the power cable is inserted correctly into the computer and that it is plugged into the wall outlet.

If you are still having problems with your Power Mac G5 booting problems, check out the solutions below to fix the issue, such as chancing cable and power supply and resetting NVRAM and PRAM.

    Change Cable and Power Supply

Is the power cord or adapter connected properly, but you couldn’t fix the problem? In this case I suggest you try to change the power cable if you use a stationary Mac or the power supply if you have a laptop. If you cannot find a cable or a power supply and you have decided to buy them, I recommend that you buy only original or certified products. Check out one of these products:

    • Original Rhinenet EU Power Cable for Apple iMac
    • Standard Mac mini EU to V7 Power Cable
    • Apple 45W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter
    • Apple 61W USB-C Power Adapter

    Reset NVRAM and PRAM

In some cases, Mac startup problems may be resolved by resetting the NVRAM and PRAM. NVRAM and PRAM are small amounts of memory used by macOS to quickly access certain settings. The procedure that allows you to reset these small portions of memory is quite simple, here’s what to do:

    • Shut down your Power Mac G5.
    • Press the power key and immediately press the Command+Alt/Option+P+R keys simultaneously.
    • Hold down the keys for about 20 seconds.
    • After starting up your Mac you will need to reset some settings again such as sound, display settings, time etc.

That is all there is to know about how to fix Power Mac G5 not booting problem.
