    Note that the time of the last seen is different from the double blue check. This means that a user can open the WhatsApp app and read a message without the last access status appearing, in cases where the smartphone is not connected to the Internet.

    How to Hide the Last Seen on WhatsApp

    There are many ways to hide the last seen status on WhatsApp. Some are only temporary, some are permanent. Let us analyze them one by one in detail below.

    1. Hide Last Seen Status on iPhone and Android

    • On iPhone or Android, open WhatsApp and go to Settings > Account > select Privacy.
    • Under the Privacy section, there will be an option to change your Last Seen status.
    • Here, you need to tap Last Seen, and select either Everybody, My Contacts, or Nobody.
    • Selecting Nobody will not let you to see the Last Seen status for anyone present on your WhatsApp contact and vice versa.

    2. Hide Last Seen Status on Desktop Computer (Windows PC)

    • First, launch WhatsApp app on your desktop computer with Windows 10/11 operating system.
    • Then click on Settings.
    • Go to Privacy.
    • Under the Privacy section, you need to click on the Last Seen option.
    • Now select who can check your last seen status by clicking on any one of these 3 options – Everyone, My Contacts, or Nobody.
    • Choosing Nobody will not let you to see the Last Seen status for anyone present on your WhatsApp contact and vice versa.

    3. Turn ON Airplane Mode on your Smartphone

    The third way to not show the Last Seen status is to put your smartphone in Airplane mode before reading any message on WhatsApp. By doing this, it will make the app believe we have never logged into WhatsApp.
