How to Check Apple AirPods Pro Free Recall Replacement Eligibility

If you have AirPods Pro and it is giving you some sort of problems with one or both of the earbuds, you can immediately check whether you are eligible for Apple’s recently launched free service and replacement program. The Apple brand launched a program in November 2020 to replace defective AirPods Pro free of charge. This program was subsequently extended for one year. Apple is recalling AirPods Pro models that may be experiencing sound issues, the company says on its official website. The devices affected by the recall were manufactured before October 2020. These high-end earphones were released on October 30, 2019, and are priced at $249.

“The program covers the AirPods Pro models concerned during the three years following the first retail sale of the product,” specifies the brand at Apple. These dysfunctions can manifest themselves in several ways. In particular by crackling or static noises whose intensity increases “in a loud environments, with exercise or while talking on the phone”, specifies Apple.

Active Noise reduction technology can also be affected, causing things like lower bass sound or increased background sounds, for example, those produced by traffic or by an aircraft details the company.

How to get a free replacement of AirPods Pro

These sound issues can affect the right earbud, the left earbud, or both. Defective products will be replaced free of charge by Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Center.

Note, only AirPods Pro manufactured before October 2020 are affected by this recall program. To find out if your device is eligible, just go to an Apple-authorized center, make an appointment at an Apple Store, or contact Apple Support.

The AirPods Pro will be examined before any intervention to verify that they are eligible for this program, and the case of the AirPods Pro is not affected and will not be replaced, specifies the company on its site.
