The release of the animated film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf is getting closer and closer. To get fans in the mood for the upcoming release, Netflix released a new trailer today.
The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf new trailer
After a first teaser video for the upcoming anime film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf was presented at WitcherCon, which revealed the release of the project, Netflix today published a new trailer for the work. As usual, you can watch the video at the bottom of this article.
The focus of the trailer is Vesemir, the main character of the film. We see him being hired for a job and going into battle against all sorts of monsters. At his side is the sorceress Tetra Gilcrest, a descendant of one of the continent’s first magicians.
In addition, Netflix published a list of the English speakers of The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf who will set the main characters to music via its own The Witcher Twitter account:
- Vesemir: Theo James (The Determination – Divergent)
- Tetra: Lara Pulver (Edge of Tomorrow)
- Lady Zerbst: Mary McDonnell (Scream 4)
- Deglan: Graham McTavish (Aquaman)
The anime film tells the story of a young Vesemir before he met Geralt of Rivia and took him under his wing. The fall of the witcher’s fortress Kaer Morhen, which was stormed by fanatics, who then killed most of the instructors, is likely to play an important role within the plot. The event has never been seen in either the novels or the video games for the fantasy series.
Responsible for this anime film is the South Korean animation studio Mir (The Legend of Korra, Dota: Dragon’s Blood). The film is directed by Kwang Il Han (Yuna & Stitch), while the script was written by Beau DeMayo (The Witcher).
The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf will release on August 23, 2021, exclusively on Netflix.
