Sony Assures Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Will Release in 2023
After the Venom actor may have recently teased when Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will release, now further confirmation has emerged that the game is not expected to be pushed back to 2024, as Sony has assured its investor that the title will release in 2023.
According to reports, on the occasion of its latest financial results, Sony Interactive Entertainment has assured its investors that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be launched during the current financial year.

The Insomniac Games’ sequel was previously confirmed for a fall 2023 release, and while no date has been announced yet, it seems a delay is unlikely. The latest news has also revealed the fact that the game could be nothing less than including a Spider-Verse (thanks to the technology seen in the latest Ratchet & Clank).
In addition, Sony is expected to have no other major PlayStation exclusives in the pipeline this year, so the return of Spider-Man will be the big one in the second half of 2023. We, therefore, hope that Insomniac decides to finally reveal an official release date of the title in the coming days.
Additionally, the new financial report from Sony further says that they are aiming to “continue to create new IP, grow the PC game catalog, and strengthen the development” of games as a service, something that Bungie, which is now part of PlayStation Studios, has a fundamental role.
Sony began its journey toward the PC with the launch of Horizon Zero Dawn in August 2020. In May 2021, Days Gone was the second game to make up the catalog, which was further expanded in 2022, with the arrival of five titles: God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, Sackboy: A Great Adventure and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
