A few weeks ago, those in charge at Sony Interactive Entertainment pointed out once again that the company is quite open to further takeovers. The only condition: the possible takeover candidates match the internal structure and development philosophy of the PlayStation family.
In November of last year, Sony Interactive Entertainment was once again associated with a possible takeover of the US development studio Bluepoint Games, with which the company had worked successfully on several occasions in the past.
After it had become very quiet about this topic in the last few weeks, an admin of the international gaming forum Resetera has now caused fresh speculation. As he reported, several insider sources, who are familiar with the situation, suggest that the takeover of Bluepoint Games by Sony Interactive Entertainment is only “a matter of time.”
The insiders did not mention a specific period, but we shouldn’t expect the official announcement of the takeover in February. Sony Interactive Entertainment did not want to comment on the current rumors about a possible takeover.
