Sony released a new PS5 firmware update in this recent hours to version 23.01-07.60.00, along with PS4 patch 10.70. Let’s see together what’s new in the changelog in detail below.
PS5 Firmware Update 23.01-07.60.00 & PS4 Patch 10.70 Download Available
Sony Interactive Entertainment has updated PlayStation 5 and PS4 with new versions of their firmware update, which are ready to download and install as soon as you turn on your console. Updates 23.01-07.60.00 for PS5 and 10.70 for PS4 have similar purposes, improving the performance of each system, according to official information provided by the company.
Just like the latest updates, today’s update does nothing but, at least according to what is reported in the official patch notes, improve system performance. The release notes don’t mention any other changes, although we’re pretty sure the update contains some hidden changes that haven’t been discovered yet.
The latest firmware update for the PS5 was updated version 23.01-07.40.00, released just last month, in early June. Again, however, it was a minor update and nothing full of news. The most recent high-profile update was released in March 2023, when PS5 received Variable Refresh Rate support for displays supporting 1440p resolution.
We still don’t know anything about when the next big console update will arrive. Sony hasn’t even communicated when the next beta with interesting new features and functions will be available, so we look forward to more information.
Although the latest software update does not contain any significant news, it is always good to keep your PlayStation console updated for it to work optimally, as these fix some small bugs, even introduced by major updates.
Furthermore, this time there is not even an update for the DualSense included. By the looks of it, this might be an optional update, but it should still start downloading automatically the next time you boot up your PS5 and PS4, so you might as well install it.
