Overwatch 2 will soon be presented to the public. In the course of Blizzcon 2021, the new shooter will be presented. The fair will be held online in February.
Overwatch 2 was announced at Blizzcon 2019. But not too much of the sequel was heard or seen in the past few months. This is about to change soon.
Blizzard announced shortly before the turn of the year that Overwatch 2 will have an appearance at the next Blizzcon. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the fair has been delayed to the coming year and will take place in February.
“We know it’s been too long. We know we’ve been quiet,” said Game Director Jeff Kaplan after showing a new map in the latest developer update. “Our focus is on Overwatch 2, and we’ll be talking more about that in February, at the very latest. We’re excited about the future… [we] can’t wait to talk to you more about Overwatch 2, can’t wait to show you more with Overwatch 2.”
Kaplan did not reveal in detail what you can expect at the fair. However, gameplay trailer should be possible. In addition, the game director pointed out that the first game should not be neglected either.
It is currently unknown when the new game will be released. However, the studio has a habit of waiting until shortly before the release to announce dates. Above all, the new consoles Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 should be the focus of the plans.
Earlier this year, Blizzard announced that Blizzcon 2020 would not take place given all the health and safety considerations. Blizzcon 2021 will be held as an online event from February 19-20, 2021. Blizzard has details of the program for you here.
