It looks like Sony Santa Monica is already working on a new God of War game. In a new job posting looking for a combat designer, fans have found some hints that may indicate the studio is preparing for a return to the franchise. Check out all the information below.
New God of War game Is In Development, as per Job Listing
It seems that Sony Santa Monica is preparing the next or new chapter of the God of War series. The studio has placed a job advertisement on its official website where it is looking for an employee with in-depth knowledge of the last two chapters of the series.
While there is no specific statement that the “combat designer” will be working on a new God of War, it is said that the candidate must have “knowledge of God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök (2022) and be able to speak in depth about the combat systems, mechanics, and enemies.” Additionally, they will be working on an unannounced new title.
Santa Monica also says that applicants will need to have more than 2 years of experience in game production, with at least one in-character design capability (both creative and technical).

God of War fans should be very much excited now, as it seems the franchise isn’t over yet. Kratos’ story seemed to end with God of War: Ragnarök, but there are still many indications for the franchise. It seems that, at least in terms of combat, we will also see something similar in the last two games, as this would explain why candidates need experience in them.
God of War Ragnarok was released last November, so it’s too late for DLC, and the ad itself says “an unannounced new title”. Ragnarok has been heavily criticized for its lack of major innovations, so it remains to be seen how fans will react to the third game, should it actually be in production.
Of course, this is by no means an official confirmation, but we can safely assume that such an experience is necessary for the next chapter in the adventures of Kratos and friends.
