Microsoft is getting ready for the new lunches because 2028 could be the release date year in which we will see the new Xbox consoles in the Redmond family. Even if the Xbox Series X/S is continuing its running and is far from the end of its life cycle, Microsoft has already made it clear to get around the console wars. Check out the whole details below.
New Xbox Release Date Decided by Microsoft – Report
According to internal chat logs that came as a leak online as part of a lawsuit against Microsoft’s planned takeover of Activision Blizzard company, the successors to the current Xbox Series X/S or the new Xbox consoles are scheduled to come onto the market in 2028. The leaked document talks about a launch in late summer or autumn that is very likely in order to be able to take advantage of the pre-Christmas business.
The minutes refer to a meeting in May 2022 at which a dozen high-ranking Microsoft representatives were present, including CEO Satya Nadella, CFO Amy Hood, and Phil Spencer, who were all responsible for the gaming area.
The chat in this meeting was made public at the juncture of the legal battle between Microsoft and the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) for the purchase of Activision-Blizzard, regarding what will be the future of Xbox.
In that term “what” is going to be the next hardware, whether it will still be a classic console or something new? At that time, a question emerged regarding the same situation: “Is the plan for 2028 to keep that [illegible] like model or force a Windows-like flexible/capabilities like model?”
Therefore, 2028 is, the year in which, in Microsoft’s plans, there will be a new advancement regarding the Xbox platforms. Which, in the words of some company executives, will always have to “provide the ability for creators to take advantage of unique hardware capabilities,” whatever that means.
