Waiting to know when Season 2 of The Last of Us will be released, now comes a first confirmation about Season 3 of the HBO series. The new series should be based on the events narrated in Last of Us Part II, apparently divided into several parts. Check out all the information below.
The Last of Us Season 3 Is In Plans
Production on the second season of The Last of Us will apparently be followed by work on a third cycle of episodes. Now, after showrunner Craig Mazin provides an update on the Abby casting situation by saying “no one has been cast” till yet, the writer has implied that Season 3 is happening.
As reported by Deadline, Mazin confirmed that the plan is to get to Season 3 but only if The Last of Us continues to record excellent ratings.
“It’s going to be more than one season. There’s more story, so this show will not end with Season 2 unless people don’t watch it and we’ll get canceled,” Mazin confirmed. “Barring that, we will be doing some things exactly the way they were in the game. We’re going to do other things that are in the game and we’re gonna do some things that are in the game but we’re gonna do them differently in our own method. No matter if you have played the game or not. You will be surprised as the season unfolds. We have some interesting twists and turns.”
In short, we just have to wait and find out how far in the history of the game, The Last of Us Season 2 will be developed (the hope is that the plot will not be cut off cleanly anyway).
In recent news, the showrunner has also hinted ahead of the release of season 2 is that, it seems, there will be more enemies for the characters to contend with. Indeed, many have criticized the lack of Infected in the first season, so this is sure to be a popular decision.
