In celebration of Ubisoft Forward, the previously unveiled Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is back with a couple of brand-new gameplay videos. In fact, the game is told with a new animated trailer in a very particular style, followed by a video relating to pure and simple gameplay (which is not too bad). Check out both videos below.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Gameplay Video Revealed
During this evening’s Ubisoft Forward, the gameplay of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, the spin-off of the saga announced a few days ago during the Summer Game Fest, was shown extensively. Well, if you had any doubts, thanks to this video you will probably reevaluate the work positively.
The Metroidvania-style game mechanics seem, in fact, to be really well done, with a large map to explore defined as a “semi-open world”. In addition to going through the levels with the platform style typical of the saga, the game will immerse itself in various combats, complete with slow-motion cinematic scenes.
In the new Prince of Persia game, you will play as Sargon, a wild and rugged young man of a superhuman group of guardians known as The Immortals, who also possess the power to manipulate time. You will therefore have to save the iconic prince of the saga, using your skills and killing all those who stand in front of you.
The Prince of Persia universe will return, but not with another fully 3D game. The developers will offer players a smaller story for a good start. The new chapter in the saga, this time in 2D, has returned to a more unique style and with visual references closer to comics, which partly recalls current indie games, but also what was the original game that has given rise to everything.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will be released on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on January 18, 2024, with pre-orders already open.
