AirPods are well known for their noise cancellation and sound quality. But to get the best out of your AirPods, you might need ear tips of appropriate size. Fortunately, AirPods Pro models have different ear tip sizes inside its box that you can easily remove and install, or you can use third-party compatible ear tips, and this guide will show you how.
How to Remove AirPods Pro Ear Tips?
The 1st generation AirPods Pro comes in 3 different sizes of ear tips i.e., medium, small and large. While the 2nd generation comes in 4 different ear tip sizes extra small, small, medium, or large. Also, the medium size ear tips come attached to your AirPods by default while the other sizes are kept inside the tray inside the box where your AirPods came. You can remove and attach ear tips to your AirPods Pro by following these steps:
- Firstly, locate the tip attached to your AirPods Pro. The tip is the part that goes inside your ear canal and has a silicone material.
- You can gently pull on the tip to detach it from the AirPods. You should hear a click when it comes off.
- Then select a tip that you want to attach to your AirPods Pro. Depending on your preference and comfort, you can use the same size or a different one.
- Also, you can use a third-party tip that is compatible with the AirPods, but make sure it fits well and does not affect the sound quality or noise cancellation.
- To attach the new tip, align it with the oval-shaped connector on your AirPods Pro.
- Then push it firmly until you hear a click.
- Make sure the tips are securely attached so that they don’t wobble or fall off.
Perform Ear Tip Test
After attaching the new ear tip to your AirPods Pro, you can try the ear tip test to check if you are getting a satisfactory level of sound quality. To perform an ear tip test, follow these steps:
- Firstly, connect your AirPods Pro to your iPhone or iPad and put them in your ears.
- Then go to Settings and tap the ‘Bluetooth’ tab.
- Next to your AirPods tap the ‘i’ icon.
- Now tap on the ‘Ear tip fit test’ tab.
- Finally, tap the ‘Continue’ button, then press the ‘Play’ button to start the test and check the noise cancellation and sound quality.
