There seem to be new rumors arriving around the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, a graphics card that will replace the GeForce RTX 3070 in mid-May, thus hoping that the original model passes away and is replaced by a more powerful one designed to limit the Ethereum mining performance.
According to an indiscretion from Uniko’s Hardware, it seems that Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti GPU will use the GA104-400-A1 graphics chip, and that this can be found linked to two memory configurations: the most basic of 8GB of VRAM and the most advanced with 16GB.
Both configurations use GDDR6X memory chips manufactured by Micron clocked at 19 GHz. According to the previous rumors, there should be a GA104-400 GPU, that is a GA104 with all the active units, therefore with 6144 CUDA cores, the same number as the GeForce RTX 3080 Mobile GPU.

The current desktop version of RTX 3070 stops at 5888 CUDA cores and has 8GB of GDDR6 memory at 14Gbps. There would also be a rather large jump in bandwidth, from the 448 GB/s of the RTX 3070 to about 608 GB/s on the RTX 3070 Ti model.
If all the information is confirmed, the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti would be announced in partnership alongside the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, which will cause the same replacement movement with the GeForce RTX 3080.
The launch of the new Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti would be in May 2021, but current circumstances may result in a delay of the graphics card. So don’t rush to put money aside for the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3080 Ti because they won’t be available anytime soon.
