Initially scheduled for 2022, The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 will now be available in spring 2023. In a video message published by Nintendo recently, the producer Eiji Aonuma explained that the development team of the Kyoto house “have decided to extend our development time a bit and change the release to spring 2023. For those of you who have been looking forward to a release this year, we apologize,” Aonuma declared

“As previously announced, the adventure in this sequel will take place not just on the ground as in the previous game, but also in the skies above,” Aonuma continues. “However, the expanded world goes beyond that, and there will be an even wider variety of features you can enjoy, including new encounters and new gameplay elements. In order to make this game’s experience something special, the entire development team is continuing to work diligently on this game, so please wait a while longer.”

According to the director, Breath of the Wild 2 will not only explore land environments, but also buildings in the sky. He still informs that the expanded world goes beyond, but did not go into details. Although this information is not new, the video shown by Nintendo brings small “spoilers”. For example: in the final stretch, it is possible to see Link’s Master Sword partially destroyed.

Here’s the video:

The latest information on the new Zelda: Breath of the Wild we have is dated late 2021, and concerns some patents that may have revealed interesting gameplay features. However, it will still take some time to learn more about this game given this postponement. In addition, the game, announced during E3 2021, remains without an official name, called by Nintendo only a sequel to the original title.

Remember that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 will now be released in spring 2023.
