Will The Last of Us Part III be done, it won’t be done, it will be done under one condition or not, they are thinking about it or not: well, today, Neil Druckmann’s latest statement arrives on the latest chapter of the franchise but it doesn’t help too much. Druckmann Possibly Confirms He is Considering The Last of Us Part III

After the amazing The Last of Us second chapter, fans are waiting to know if Ellie’s story can continue in some way. According to many, The Last of Us Part III could even be a title for a possible PlayStation 6, even.

Obviously, Neil Druckmann is the man to ask but, on various occasions, the director has always said different things. As early as April 2021, talks had begun of an alleged script, or at least a first draft, of a third chapter of the franchise which, however, was never started as the development of a real video game.

And if Druckmann in the past had said it was a possibility, in a recent interview with IGN he is basically confirming that he’s at least considering it. In that sense, on the occasion of a promotional content dedicated to the TV series of The Last of Us, Neil Druckmann as showrunner wanted to clarify Naughty Dog’s future plans:

“I’ll just say right now the focus is on, we have the multiplayer game coming out, and we are going to reveal more about it later this year. Beyond that, it’s the same process we’ve always had. We don’t do something that we’re not extremely passionate about, so unless we had a really good compelling story to keep the story going it ends at [The Last of Us] part two.”

In part it is a confirmation of the fact that Naughty Dog wants to continue to tell its world, but only with a good idea behind it. At the same time, Druckmann seemed much less open this time about The Last of Us Part III.

On the other hand, the multiplayer project itself had been defined as much more ambitious than expected, and it is understandable that the team does not want to waste creative and communicative energies.
