Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Might Include a Very Different Version of Venom

Marvel’s Spider-Man sequel returned to show itself at the end of last night’s PlayStation Showcase, and it did so with a long gameplay video that certainly thrilled the wall-crawler fans. Now, as per some theories by fans of the title, it looks like there will be a very different version of Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Check out the complete details below.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 To Include a Very Different Version of Venom

According to some reports by the Twitter user “Cerealkinder435”, it seems that the Venom we will see in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 game will be significantly different from the one seen in the comics and films (warning: spoilers on the first game follow from now).

In most cases, Venom’s host is Eddie Brock, Peter Parker’s disgraced colleague at the Daily Bugle, who makes the symbiote his own through mutual hatred of Spider-Man. A large number of comics, cartoons, and films have made Brock and Venom almost one character, although, in fact, Eddie has not yet appeared in the Insomniac universe.

The only hint of his existence is in the original Marvel’s Spider-Man, but with Peter having left the Bugle and Miles’s story still to be told, there’s little room to properly tell the character’s origins.

According to fans, a very different Venom could fill this gap: Harry Osborne. In the post-credits scene of the first game, Harry is seen floating in a kind of medical tank, surrounded by decidedly symbiotic tentacles. We then see the boy again in the post-credits scene of Miles Morales, still wrapped in those tentacles.

Harry, of course, is much more related to the Green Goblin figure than to Venom, but the symbiote would certainly be an interesting way to deal with his illness.

It is also true that some precedents also exist: in the cartoon Ultimate Spider-Man, Harry saves a fragment of the symbiote when it leaves Peter and eventually becomes Venom himself.

In any case, the Insomniac studio has already announced that it is particularly proud of the work done, revealing its intention to make Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 “their best game ever”.
