Lenovo has formalized the rumors of the past few days, officially presenting Legion Go, the company’s first Windows portable device, dedicated to gaming. This PC in handheld format promises to offer greater freedom to play how and where you prefer, thanks to technical specs ready to compete with the two most famous competitors of the moment: Steam Deck and ROG Ally.

Lenovo Legion Go is designed for gamers who are looking for top specs and the highest image quality even on a portable device. The new handheld, in fact, brings the power of Windows PC titles in a portable and high-performance format.

Lenovo Legion Go comes with an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, AMD RNDA graphics and intelligent power management technology. The device is based on Windows 11, and it is also capable of offering a powerful combination of graphics performance compared to current generation consoles, thanks to an 8.8-inch QHD+ gaming display (with 16:10 ratio and Lenovo PureSight technology), which offers gamers an optimal size to enjoy the most recent titles on the market.

This display reaches a brightness of up to 500 nits and offers a DCI-P3 color gamut of 97%, furthermore it is also adjustable according to the gaming style and preferred situation of use, it supports a resolution from 1600p to 800p, with frequencies of 144Hz and 60Hz update.

The screen integrates 10 touch points for natural and intuitive control, whether it’s swiping or tapping on the screen. Legion Go is also equipped with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM (7500 Mhz), with power management flexibility to offer optimal gaming performance and faster loading times.

To ensure long gaming sessions, Lenovo Legion Go has a 49.2Wh battery with Super Rapid Charge support that allows you to recharge it up to 70% in about 30 minutes. When using Legion Go connected to a power source, the device activates the power bypass mode which protects the battery and eliminates the heat that is normally produced during charging.

To close the technical specifications, we find a PCIe Gen4 SSD (available up to 1 TB) and a micro-SD slot that supports up to 2 TB additional storage space.

Lenovo Legion Go is expected to be available in October 2023, with a list price starting at $699. Further details have not yet been released regarding the price of the various versions or as regards the precise day of the market launch.
